About Dutch Bucket Hydroponic System

1.Introduction to Dutch bucket hydroponic system

The Dutch bucket hydroponic system, also known as the Bato bucket system, is a multifunctional and space saving hydroponic method. It grows plants by using independent containers (buckets), each equipped with growth media and drip irrigation systems. These buckets are connected to a central nutrient storage system, forming a closed-loop system that maximizes the utilization of water and nutrients.

2.Working principle

Container setup: Each bucket contains a growth medium, typically perlite or coconut coir, used to support the roots of plants.

Drip irrigation: Drip irrigation systems deliver nutrient rich solutions directly to the roots of each plant. Excess solution is collected and recycled back to the storage to reduce waste.

Nutrient storage: A central storage device that continuously circulates and transports nutrient solutions. This ensures that plants obtain the key nutrients they need to promote optimal growth.

3.The advantages of the Dutch bucket system

Customized nutrient supply: Each plant receives consistent nutrient supply, promoting strong growth and high yield.

Space efficiency: The modular design of the system makes it suitable for small-scale and commercial planting, efficiently utilizing space.

Water and nutrient efficiency: The closed-loop system saves water and nutrients, reducing resource waste.

Crop diversity: The Dutch bucket system is suitable for various crops, including vegetables, herbaceous plants, and even flowering plants.

Reduce labor: Drip irrigation systems simplify watering and nutrient supply, reducing the need for manual intervention.

4.The characteristics of a complete hydroponic growth system Dutch bucket

*The Dutch water bucket is designed to be fed by a dropper and discharged through a locally purchased ordinary 1.5 "PVC pipe.

*The siphon elbow adjusts the safe storage of nutrient solution at the bottom of the bucket to a depth of 1 inch. This feature can prevent growth

The medium that dries and causes water stress between irrigation cycles. Siphon can also prevent excessive accumulation

Nutrient solution. It is recommended to use two siphon elbows for each bucket.

*You can use almost any type of growth medium, including expanded clay particles, perlite, and coconut shells.

*Ideal tomatoes, cucumbers, chili peppers, onions, basil, other herbs, and more!

Dutch buckets are suitable for hydroponic systems. The overflow outlet can be connected to the central 1-1/2 PVC drainage pipe.

The bucket has an efficient internal discharge system. By installing two bends, the overflowing water is sucked in from the lowest level of the bucket and discharged into the central drainage pipe. This will eliminate stagnant water. The size of the Dutch bucket is 12 inches x 10 inches x 9 inches (LxWxH). The Dutch bucket is made of food grade polypropylene.
